Fish Canada on a Houseboat

Northwestern Ontario is known for its expansive lakes including Lac Seul and Lake of the Woods. One of the best ways to fish and explore these two immense bodies of water is on a houseboat! Rentals boats vary in size the boat you choose is dependent on how many people are travelling with you. Cruise to many different locations on these lakes and with your fishing boat in tow, try an endless number of fishing spots as you go down the lake. When your vacationing on a houseboat, there really is no clock - you do what you want when you want to. Houseboat cruising is another great idea for an Ontario family vacation. Children will enjoy both swimming and fishing as well as exploring the many isolated beaches you'll come across. Adventures on the Open Water

By renting a houseboat you're the kind of person who loves to explore and that is something you can do all the time on these big lakes. Lake of the Woods is over 1 million acres surface area and has over 14,500 islands on it. You can cruise through this maze of islands for days on end. Enjoy excellent fishing for walleye, bass, lake trout, nothern pike, muskie, perch and even black crappie. You can embark on an adventure on the open waters of this great lake from a number of spots including out of Morson, Sioux Narrows or Kenora.

On Lac Seul you'll find some of Ontario's best walleye fishing along with the opportunity for gigantic muskie on the east end of the lake. Houseboats can be rented out of Hudson, Ontario on the east end of the lake or in Ear Falls on the west. This lake is part of the mighty English River System, known by many for its spectacular scenery and high quality fishery.

Dog Lake, just west of Thunder Bay, Ontario is another big lake that you can explore by houseboat. The fishing for walleye, northern pike and smallmouth bass is very good on this lake and the rugged beauty of its shorelines is a beautiful sight to see.
